What games with sophisticated base construction all have in common: Players let their creativity run free and build true masterpieces in the game worlds. Survival games such as Minecraft, Valheim, Rust or, more recently, Sons of the Forest are particularly suitable for this.
A player kindly pointed out his own creation, which we like so much that we don’t want to withhold it from you. Leaving aside the playful use, the design of the building impresses with its aesthetics, symmetry and statics.
Mighty Double Cube
On the first try, the player was limited Hippe Hippendorfer
in Sons of the Forest still waiting to place a single cube in the landscape. It’s already impressive, here beautifully and dramatically snapped with the moon in the background:
But that wasn’t enough for the master builder, so he doubled the stakes. Finally, there was this shapely construct:
How durable is the base?
The base shows a lot of creative creativity. We can guess at first glance how much planning and effort must have gone into the construction.
As nice as we think the build is, we wonder if the base can withstand the tough everyday life in Sons of the Forest? The construct rests on four wooden pillars, the entrance(?) can only be reached via a self-made footbridge with dry feet.
We’re just imagining that a big cannibal could destroy such a log with a few hits. Would the base then collapse? What does the base look like inside? And how does the player actually get in there?
Luckily, I paid attention in journalism class and asked the maker of the structure a few burning questions. You will find his answers here when they reach me.
What do you think of the double cubes? A beautiful sight? Just too impractical in your eyes? Write us your opinion in the comments!
