The fact that the new edition of Resident Evil 4 is a success can already be seen from the first player numbers on Steam, which set a franchise record straight away. The first sales figures have now been officially published and underline the excellent start.
For Capcom, the new edition of Resident Evil 4 turns out to be a commercial success, because the remake found countless buyers straight away. According to the first official information, the returning cult classic around Leon Kennedy sold more than three million copies in the first two days after the release alone.
The success could already be guessed after the game set a new user record in Resident Evil history on Steam. What it looked like on other platforms or consoles had not yet been officially documented – until today.
The remake of the 2005 GameCube classic has also proved popular with critics. The new version stays true to the original story in telling the story, but has gained quite a bit of game depth.
Accordingly, Capcom is also quite euphoric in its statement announcing the commercially successful launch and refers to the high ratings in online reviews. The previously released Chainsaw demo was also well received and increased interest.
