I’m probably not teaching you anything by telling you this LEGO is a Danish brand that designs and markets many playsets based on iconic pop culture licenses. (and not only). For example, you will find a whole range of LEGO sets
Harry Potter
,
war of stars
and recently
Indiana Jones
even in transit

. To me, it’s easy to offer anyone a LEGO because you’re bound to find a universe that suits the tastes of the person you’re offering it to.
Buy Rivendell in LEGO for $499.99 on the official website
To give you an idea of the context, I’m used to LEGO myself, even outside of the JVTech editorial team. Despite spending a certain amount of my childhood surrounded by LEGO, I still sometimes fall in love with a set and enjoy putting each little colored brick together. But I’ve never had the opportunity to assemble a LEGO set as colossal and complex as Rivendell (or Rivendell for English speakers) from the Lord of the Rings Collection.
Lego Rivendell has exactly 6167 pieces to assemble and it’s a number that can justifiably terrify more than one, especially if you’re not used to it. I can assure you immediately that since then you will not get lost in front of a mountain of LEGO bricks The coins are distributed in bags that you open along the way.
The only thing you need to consider before diving into LEGO in Rivendell is time. You should calculate between 15 and 20 hours to get to you from the 6167 pieces of the set. If you are impatient to be able to display the result at home, it is quite possible to split the work between up to 3 people, since the set can be divided into 3 large, very different parts: the tower, the river next to the armory and finally the central square where the Council of the Ring meets.
The preliminary stage before building the LEGO Rivendell from Lord of the Rings begins
Before you start tackling the task, we advise you to set a first point. When the giant box of LEGO Rivendell arrived at the editorial office, the entire team was very excited to see the final render, especially the biggest fans of the Lords of the Rings saga. But before doing most of the assembly, the first step was to inventory the contents of the LEGO box.
This is a step I highly recommend you do once you start assembling a LEGO as it allows you to check that you have all the bags so you don’t get stuck mid-assembly and waste time. .
Be assured, If you’re ever missing a part in your LEGO box, you have the option to submit a request directly on the official website with proof of purchase and the brand will send it to you free of charge.
Lord of the Rings: Rivendell is probably the LEGO set I had the most fun building
After making sure that no parts were missing, I was able to start assembling. If I have chosen to build the various elements of this Lord of the Rings set in book order, you should know that you can start Rivendell with the book of your choice. Due to the division of labour, assembly can even be carried out by several people.
So I undertook the construction of the tower next to which will be a library, small but particularly well stocked with books. on the floor above there we will find Bilbo Baggins’ room, as well as an office so that he can continue studying during his stay. By the way, about the Bilbo character and everyone else except the elves, LEGO allows the player to choose their facial expression by rotating the piece that serves as their head. As for Bilbo, it is therefore possible to make him adopt a neutral expression or, on the contrary, a dopt an expression of enthusiasm, a bit like when he sees the coveted ring!
Then the second instruction booklet focused on building a river as well as the armory, surmounted by an elegant little white pergola. If I loved discovering every detail of the armory, I also loved the river’s construction, which is made of translucent blue bricks.
As for the pergola, it has a very nice rendering, but The white pieces make it a bit difficult if you are super picky : indeed, at the highest level It is difficult to get a perfectly calibrated result as these parts do not fit together like the others.
Finally, I started building the central part, the largest part of this LEGO set. It consists of a large hall and a central square where the members of the Council of the Ring meet to debate. This central square is overlooked by a tree with green and orange leaves that give the scenery a bit of an autumn air.
Note the presence of a map of Mordor on display in the great hall, as well as decorative paintings relating to specific scenes from the film. On the other hand, you will need a lot of patience to mount the roof In order to get a perfectly symmetrical rendering, each small diamond has to be carefully arranged and this can take a lot of time.
To bring this Lord of the Rings set to life, many minifigures are making their LEGO debut! In particular we will find Bilbo Baggins, Frodo Baggins, Gandalf the Grey, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Arwen, Boromir, Samsagace Gamegie, Meriadoc and Peregrin and Elrond the Half-Elf. It’s really fun to have so many characters in one LEGO set because it gives the player lots of possibilities for scenarios to bring Rivendell to life, enhanced by the different facial expressions you can choose. .
The LEGO Rivendell from The Lord of the Rings Collection is a very enjoyable set to build given the impressive amount of detail it highlights. I enjoyed every step of the assembly and that feeling of rediscovering snippets of the movie as I progressed with the build is exactly what I was looking for in a LEGO set like this. The color palette has been well chosen and the reliefs are well controlled. As for the rendering, all JV and JVTech editorial teams agree: it’s great and we hope to be able to show it outdoors for as long as possible! For all these reasons, it was given a 5-star rating.
