Immortal Aviman upcoming first-person magic shooter EA and The Ascending Studiowhich will reportedly be released in July.
After it was revealed at The Game Awards, we haven’t actually seen any of Aveum’s Immortals, as its trailer only showed off a pre-rendered film. The game currently has a release window of 2023, with no more specific information available since launch. But according to data miner billbil-kun, the game will be released on July 20th (thanks VGC), and the game is known for a lot of accurate leaks.
Billbil-kun has become a reliable source of PlayStation Plus free game leaks over the past few months, so while this is just a rumor, it’s at least a little more reliable than usual. Still, like any rumor, it’s best to worry a little bit about it, especially considering we haven’t seen any gameplay yet.
Immortals of Aveum comes from new developer Ascendant Studios, made up of developers who worked on Dead Space and Call of Duty, as well as BAFTA and Game of the Year. According to a press release at the time, the game was “a groundbreaking new single-player first-person magic shooter offering a visceral cinematic campaign experience,” “set in an original fantasy world filled with magic, fraught with conflict, and Edge of Oblivion.” Currently scheduled for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, it’s another title from last-gen consoles.
The game is also the next entry in EA’s Originals series, which previously focused on indie titles, though last year’s reveal of Wild Hearts (Omega Force’s take on the Monster Hunter-style game) allowed bigger studios to develop games too. . EA hasn’t clarified why the label shifted in favor of larger developers, though most indies aren’t known for their money-making potential.
