According to a new post on the official Fortnite website, the Attack on Titan x Fortnite update is coming soon. A trailer was also released showing off the new features in the game, if you want to see it in action.
The update, part of the second season of the fourth season, brings several characters from the popular anime to the battle royale game, including Mikasa and Levi. You can also get some weapon decorations with an Attack on Titan theme. So if you’re a fan of the series and have the cash to splurge, you can show your love.
But by far the coolest thing we’ve seen in the trailer is the ODM gear–the personal zipline you see in the trailer that characters use to shoot themselves across the map. Along with them, you’ll see the characters use their high mobility to quickly navigate the island’s new urban POI. This, combined with the grinding rails, makes an already excellent landing spot a truly enticing one.
We also saw the character perform some pretty-looking attacks while using ODM gear. The first are explosive projectiles called Thunder Spears, which we’ve seen stick to wooden walls and destroy player-built structures when they explode (as you’d expect from that kind of weapon). We also saw the rad spin attack, which looks like a powerful charging melee option. If it’s anything like the katana swords we’ve seen this season, they’ll be highly sought after.
Who doesn’t love new exercise options? From the moment we first saw the ODM gear in the season trailer, players couldn’t wait to try it out. If you want to get your hands on Thunder Spears and ODM gear, you can find them in special new chests scattered across the island. There’s also a new secret basement hidden in Anvil Square that’s worth exploring.
