Google has many apps and some are more boring than others. The Contacts app isn’t too exciting and in some sections it’s not even basic. After a long time without almost any news, it seems that Google had several changes planned for the future of your Contacts app.
Nail Sadykov from Telegram’s Google News channel discovered several new features in the Contacts app that are on the way and will give it a breath of fresh air. An important novelty is that we will see a map that shows us the location, local time and time of each contact.
The Contacts app is preparing for big changes
At the application of Google contacts can be improved And depending on who you ask, it may even be unnecessary: after all, contacts also show up in the Google Phone app. We will have more reasons to use it in the future, because Google is preparing a lot of new features for this application.
To begin with, in the visual section, the photos of our contacts will be displayed with a circular cutout instead of occupying a rectangular region at the top of the application.
Also, adding a contact’s address will be rewarded, since Google will use it for more than showing it on Google Maps. If a contact’s information includes their addressa card with additional information will mostly show above vital information such as phone number.
In this new map we will see the city, local time, temperature and current weather conditions the location to which this contact was added as a location. If we prefer not to see it, with the menu we can hide this card or modify the contact’s address with a context menu.
Speaking of location, another new feature of Google Contacts is that if a contact includes a phone number, a new button will appear at the top to share our position in real time in Google Maps, but that we can start directly from the Contacts application.
All these novelties are waiting for Google Enable them on the server side, so that they can arrive at any time, globally or on a large scale. For now, Google has not officially announced them.
