The German development studio Keen Games today officially presented its latest work: Enshrouded. This is a new survival action RPG that is scheduled to start in Early Access in 2023.
Co-op fans with a penchant for action RPGs and survival titles can add a new genre representative to their list. Keen Games has announced Enshrouded, set in a vast, abandoned realm corrupted by a mysterious fog. You can gamble alone or with up to 16 players. Together you can defeat challeng ing bosses, build huge halls and upgrade heroes in the survival action RPG. This is also necessary to survive in the mist and unravel the mysteries surrounding the fall of the kingdom.
You gamble in one ruined world of magic ruined by a plague unleashed from the depths of the earth. Driven insane, the mutated remains of the fallen inhabitants are controlled by the Mist as they roam and ravage the land – but high above the Mist and deep in the ancient temples lie slumbering warriors of a forgotten age.
You awaken as a so-called “Flameborn” and are one of the last hopes of an ancient civilization, guided by an arcane force. From now on you have to hunt your way through the game world, collect objects and explore forests, deserts and dungeons. You can also draw on a deep and large skill tree to master weapons, spells and armor. This in turn should allow for your own playing styles through different variations.
You can build your base down to the smallest detail and equip it with a wide range of materials and furniture to protect yourself from the fog. There are also numerous NPCs in the game world, who sometimes unlock advanced workshops and thus open up the chance to produce mythical weapons.
From the official side, the features of the title are summarized as follows:
- Survival and Exploration: Players survive and explore Embervale, a vast open world filled with mutant creatures, puzzles, and mysteries.
- ARPG combat system: Players take on the role of “Flameborn” and fight against fallen and other corrupted creatures. Players can learn their tactical plans and hone their character’s skills to clear the fog and repel the hordes of enemies.
- Boss fights: Players may face the plagues of Embervale by challenging the faction leaders, proving their mettle and defeating them with their mighty weapons.
- Crafting and base building: Players can rescue talented crafters, find lost recipes, build their base down to the smallest detail, and shape the world’s terrain as they see fit.
- Character Customization: Enshrouded’s extensive crafting system allows players to customize their character and upgrade weapons and armor.
