Who does not know this incredible series? I think everyone in the world, whether they are a fan of the manga or the anime or not, knows Dragon Ball very well.
Let’s be honest… Whether you like it more or less, I’m pretty sure you’ve seen at least one episode in your life. Yes, I swallowed all the anime (including GT, I’m not hiding) a few times, I also enjoyed the movies like a dwarf and now With the Dragon Ball Super series and movies, I once again enjoyed the new adventures of Goku and company. I can’t be more grateful to Toriyama for such a creation. If you still don’t know why today March 9 (9-5) is Goku’s Day, I’ll explain it to you. In Japan, the days are read backwards, so we look at 5-9. The 5 reads “Go” and the 9 “Ku”. If you put them together, you create the kanji that forms Goku’s name.
But let’s come to what concerns us, I beat around the bush. We’re here to talk about video games, not to talk about anime and movies. In case you don’t know, yesterday was Gohan’s day; Today May 9th is Goku Day and tomorrow we will face Goten Day. As Son Goku is the protagonist of the series and one of those who receive the most love, to celebrate his day we are going to leave you with a small selection of what for me are some of the best games who have ever played on Xbox.
Do not miss these games if you are a fan of Dragon Ball
As is logical, in this selection we will have deliveries of Xbox 360 and Xbox One, of course, there are also some that can be played on the X|S series, so don’t worry. Also, if you’re like me… I’m sure you’ve maintained your consoles from previous generations well. My original Xbox, my 360 and my One are kept as relics. So there is no problem to be able to enjoy the games, so without spoiling more, let’s go directly with this short list:
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot – Xbox One and Series X|S
We start with the most current, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot brings the story of Dragon Ball Z to life, from its beginnings to its end with the Majin Buu saga. A really fun game with a relatively wide world that will give us many hours of fun, I didn’t stop playing until I got all the achievements, and even then I want to do it again.
We cannot forget that in this 3D game the fights are very pleasant, with simple and intuitive controls that will make you an expert in a few fights. Of course, despite the fact that the control is simple, until you have certain skills or a specific level, the fights can become taxing if you are not used to this type of game. However, despite the fact that we already knew the story very well, the cinematic that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot offers us is simply perfect.

Dragon Ball FighterZ – Xbox One and Series X|S
We completely change the third, if before we were talking about a game with a story mode and a vast world to explore, now we go to the other extreme. Dragon Ball Fighterz is a 2D fighting game (it also offers us a story mode) in the purest Budokai style, to give you an idea. In this installment, the characters have a completely unique move set, meaning each is handled differently. In Dragon Ball FighterZ, there’s no point pressing buttons until you’ve won the fight, but you’ll need to know which moves to use each time.
This fighting game has become very popular thanks to this feature and is even used in official eSport competitions. The truth is that watching the professionals play is a real wonder, in addition, the game also delights you with very neat graphics that will make all Dragon Ball fans glued to the screen. You know, if you like this type of games and want to play alone or with friends at home, this is your game.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 1 and 2 – Xbox One and Series X|S
There were a lot of people who did not appreciate this delivery, quite respectable however, Dragon Ball Xenoverse has brought us a whole new story for fans of the franchise. Additionally, it also introduced creating your own character, allowing this option for the first time. In this saga you can see characters like Jaco, Mira or Towa. On the other hand, the story of the second game takes place two years after the events of the first title, your mission is to fix the timeline.
In addition to an original story and character creation with extensive customization, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has also given us plenty of DLC over the years to expand our experience. The cast of characters and DLC it gives us is amazing, so if the base game feels short to you, that can be remedied with all that extra content.

Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 – Xbox 360
I present to you the first game in the list that is part of Xbox 360, a game that at the time left me speechless and gave me many hours of pleasure. Both alone and with friends, it’s a really fun game, it offered us many characters and brought us Hatchyak, the villain of this episode; we even included an animated film. The fight that it offers us is also in 3D and to this are also added destructible scenarios and transformations in the middle of the fight.
It’s a game that has gone a little unnoticed since It does not have a story mode, however, its graphics and gameplay have been highly appreciated by all who have been able to enjoy this title. I include myself among them, because as I mentioned before, it gave me a lot of game time. Especially considering that the online mode with friends was really fun. A delivery that you have to try at least once.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai Collection HD – Xbox 360
This remastered game offers us episodes of Dragon Ball Z Budokai and Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3. At the time, these games were only released on PlayStation 2, so this collection meant seeing them for the first time on Microsoft consoles. Logically, it came with improved graphics which were amazing for its time, 720p resolution. Budokai 3 comes with Cel Shading and also includes new features and moves. And yes, it included the transformation into Super Saiyan 4, I say that’s my favorite and I’m leaving.
New features brought with this remaster were the ability to teleport, the ability to collide attacks, and even a renewal of character combos. A unique opportunity to immerse yourself in what, for many, are the best Dragon Ball games to date. While it’s true that they gave us a huge number of characters and transformations, the combos were pretty much accurate across all characters. Hence the big difference with Dragon Ball FighterZ. Also, remember that the fourth installment of Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi was announced by surprise. Or will it be a reboot?

Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit
This video game also had a decent reception in its day, Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit once again gave us 2D focused combat with the option to play against the AI or against a friend in their online or local mode. This title also had a story mode in which you could relive the key moments of the sagas that were in Dragon Ball Z. In addition, it also included the possibility of teaming up with other characters in battle, they will not be able to fight, but they can help you at times.
This game became one of the most beloved of its time, so something had to be able to hook players so much and achieve very high ratings. If you haven’t tried it, remember that it’s never too late to get into these video games if you really like them.

As you can see this is a very personal list, some of you surely agree with me and many others disagree. That’s the magic of video games, which exist to make everyone happy. On this occasion I only wanted to offer you games available on Xbox, but surely some of you consider that there are others that should be on the list or that, on the contrary, you would delete some of those that I published.
If so, do not hesitate to put it on our social networks. Don’t forget that we read you for Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. We would therefore be delighted to discuss with you, in the meantime, I hope you enjoy Goku’s day as it deserves, with a good anime, movie or manga marathon. Or, of course, spending many hours playing some of the franchise’s titles.
