Soon you can not only play The Division 2 via UPlay, but also without your own gaming PC via Google's streaming service Stadia. We'll explain everything you need to know about the Stadia version here.
How Division 2 works with Stadia
- Release: The Stadia version will be released on March 17, 2020.
- New purchase necessary: You have to buy The Division 2 on Stadia again if you want to play it. In addition to the main program, there is also the recently released DLC Warlords of New York.
- Not a Stadia Pro: Division 2 is not included in the Stadia Pro offer. Even with a corresponding subscription, you have to purchase the special Stadia version.
- Score remains: You don't have to start over, you can connect your UPlay account to your Stadia account and continue to use your PC version.
- Crossplay: The Stadia version does not have a separate server. You can play the title with other PC players and you will always be able to find other players. Crossplay with the console versions does not exist on Stadia.
Thanks to the crossplay feature, Division 2 on Stadia bypasses an issue Destiny 2 had. Stadia users were among themselves, and the number of players dropped quickly, leaving the remaining guardians on empty servers.
Stadia is heavily criticized by many players. The fact that you have to buy the games for the streaming service again is mentioned as a common negative point. GeForce Now competition does not have this limitation. If you can accept queues and sessions of up to one hour, you can test this service for free.
