With the arrival of ChatGPT, we have witnessed a new era where Artificial Intelligence seems to be the protagonist. Open AIthe company that researches AI – curiously, it defines itself as “non-profit” – has managed to popularize its use thanks to the surprising answers offered by its conversational chat, ChatGPT.
a few hours ago, OpenAI announced the first official application of the ChatGPT company, which will allow us to use the AI tool of this native application for iOS. It is the only version that has been released, for the moment, although from OpenAI they claim that the Android version “will arrive soon”. Remember that native versions of ChatGPT are always free: if you see one trying to charge you for using it, it might be fake.

How to Use ChatGPT App on iPhone
Before you start using it, let’s see some important data, how the privacy data which OpenAI itself declares in the application folder of the App Store. As you can see in the screenshot above, data associated with our identity is recorded, such as:
- Contact information
- identifiers
- user content
- usage data
- Diagnostic
Remember that ChatGPT is based on a neural model that processes remotely i.e. everything we do with this native app you are not using local processing capabilitiesit simply captures the information, sends it for processing, and presents the results.
Something interesting in this release is that OpenAI has included the powerful speech Recognition, belonging to the company. This makes communication with ChatGPT very natural, being able to use not only the iPhone keyboard, but also our own voice.
Here’s what ChatGPT can do on the iPhone
Once we enter the application, we will see a very simple screen with moving sentences in the center of it, indicating things we can do with ChatGPT: create, innovate, explore, speak… these words, as they appear on the screen, use the haptic engine of the iPhone giving a mechanical feeling of “typing” very well done.
From here we can create a new account or log in with the one we already use ChatGPT on the desktop. This is important, because if we use the same one we already use, we will be able to recover our past conversations and the whole story. Once inside, a very simple interface tells us where we can write (the diktat) at the bottom, and a menu at the top right with two more options: History (register) y Parameters (settings).
In history we have the last conversations we had with ChatGPT both in its web version and from this new native application. There is no difference between the web and mobile, and it is even possible to delete those you want by sliding your finger from right to left on them.
If we enter the settings we will see our account details
From this same Settings menu, we can subscribe to ChatGPT Plusfor an amount of $19.99 (prices in USA may vary upon departure). We also have the ability to export all of our data, which includes account information as well as conversations we’ve had.
The application interface is very simple, but it is very well built since animations and gestures take center stage. For example, if we drag the text input box from left to right, we will instantly create a new chat.
The usage here is the ChatGPT we know. FOR very good speedI have to say, in all the tests I’ve done. In addition, I tried to interact with the system always using my voice, accessible by clicking on the “waves” button next to the text box. The interpretation of words is absolutely accurate and without kits in all my tests.
A minimalist, well-designed and conversation-oriented app: a very good eater of OpenAI and ChatGPT on iPhone
As you can see, it’s a very minimalist application at the interface level, but ChatGPT doesn’t need more: well thought out, with action-based design and where animations and certain haptic touches are used to guide us and attract our attention. Out of curiosity, they still don’t have any specific actions built in for the iOS Shortcuts app, although I guess it will be a matter of time before they do. A very good start for OpenAI to bring ChatGPT in the best possible way to our iPhone.
