After the new edition of the horror classic Alone in the Dark has been confirmed for some time, there will finally be solid new information shortly. There will be a showcase all about the title this week.
While the highlight of this week is certainly the PlayStation Showcase on Wednesday evening tomorrow, THQ Nordic is also preparing its own broadcast. This will be dedicated to the new edition of the classic Alone in the Dark and will finally reveal solid information about the game.
The corresponding Alone in the Dark Spotlight event is scheduled for Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 2:00 am German time. For those who wake up late at night, the broadcast will provide answers to some of the game’s most pressing questions. The makers promise insights into the game and also “unexpected revelations”. If you want to be there, you can go to Twitch and YouTube turn on.
What is Alone in the Dark about? Deep in the South in 1920, Emily Hartwood’s uncle has disappeared. Together with the private detective Edward Carnby, she makes her way to Derceto Manor, a home for the mentally ill, where something is lurking. From now on you will encounter strange residents, nightmarish worlds, dangerous monsters and finally uncover the conspiracy of the emerging evil. At the intersection of reality, mystery and madness, an adventure awaits you that is designed to change your core beliefs. Who can you trust, what will you believe and what will you do next?
THQ Nordic sees the new edition as a “love letter to the original”. In the reboot of the horror franchise, you can play the roles of Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood. Otherwise, the survival horror classic offers a mix of psycho horror and southern gothic. The release of the game developed by the Swedish studio Pieces Interactive is planned for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5; there might be a release date in the night from Wednesday to Thursday.
