according to the studio, the game has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide, making it the ninth best-selling game of all time after Red Dead Redemption 2. Minecraft tops the list, having sold more than 238 million copies as of last count.
CDP also shared images of characters from The Witcher Trilogy.According to the company, the three titles combined have Over 75 million copies sold worldwide.
The Witcher was released in 2007, followed by The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings in 2011 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 2015.
CDP announced in October 2022 that The Witcher Remastered is in the works, rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5. Currently in the early stages of development at Polish studio Fool’s Theory, veterans of The Witcher series are involved in the project and provide overall creative oversight.
CDP, known by the code name Canis Majoris, said it would be some time before it could start discussing the project in detail.
There are other Witcher projects in the works. These include The Witcher spin- off Project Sirius, which was recently restructured after the company assessed the scope and commercial potential of the original concept.
Another title, Project Polaris, is a story-driven open-world role-playing game that builds on the legacy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the start of a new The Witcher trilogy.
