Adoption of iOS 16 has reached 81%.
A few days before the long-awaited WWDC celebration – during which all the new features of iOS 17 will be announced – Apple took the opportunity to share some statistics related to the adoption of iOS 16 installations
iOS 16 user base is gone gradually increasing throughout the last few months. In January 2023, iOS 16 adoption stood at 70% of iPhone users. Now, according to Apple data, iOS 16 adoption reached 81% active devices.
81% of iPhones have iOS 16 installed
According to Apple reports, 81% of active iPhones are currently running iOS 16. On the other hand, 13% of iPhone users have installed iOS 15
Moreover, Apple also shared a very interesting fact that speaks volumes in favor of its respected update cycle and many against planned obsolescence. An impressive number of 90% of all devices introduced in the past four years have iOS 16 installed
On the other hand, as MacRumors points out, the user base of iPads with iPadOS 16 has reached 71%. While 76% of all iPad models released in the past four years are running iPadOS 16. Much lower numbers compared to iOS 16 which could be mainly due to the much lower number of consumers buying an iPad compared to iPhone sales.
