Safari is still the ubiquitous browser on iOS, few choose to switch to Chrome from the iPhone, either out of ignorance or simply preferring Safari integration. But from Google they don’t give up and they presented new features for Chrome on iOS that may convince more than one.
These functions are detailed in the Google Keywords blog and aim to provide functionality from other company services without having to switch applications. Google Maps, Google Translate, and Google Calendar are somehow merged together so you can do more with fewer gestures.

Google Maps, Google Translate and Google Calendar in one app
The features have yet to roll out to all instances of Chrome on iOS, but Google itself provides images that give us a glimpse of the process. An AI will detect things like addresses, dates or text in other languages
What we are not going to see how these applications are opened, but that a tab of these services will be created to quickly interact with the data. Additional integration with Google Lens will also allow us to identify plants, clothing or detect text from the photos we take. The advantage will be speed, for the simple fact of not having to switch between applications.
All of these features will soon be available in Google Chrome for iOS, just make sure you have the latest version of this browser installed. By the way: even though Chrome still uses Safari’s web rendering engine, iOS still forces this and we’ll see if they finally change their minds with future iOS 17 news.
