Every year, SEGA hosts a Sonic panel at SXSW to make announcements and answer questions from fans. Unfortunately, this year will be different. With the cancellation of SXSW 2020, there was a lot of speculation on what SEGA might decide to do with their Sonic panel announcements. The official Sonic Twitter announced that "we are working hard to bring our Sonic Panel content to you all in a new format this April ”. We don't know what this "new format" will be, but the idea that fans are strongly suggesting that they go the same way is Nintendo doing "SEGA Direct" or "Sonic Direct".
