After a very long development period, Scorn finally released last year on Xbox Series X/S and PC to mixed but mostly positive reviews (including our own). Now, as revealed on the PlayStation Blog, Scorn is coming to PS5, offering this decidedly gory game to a whole new audience. While the game only has a vague release window of “later this year,” the blog did go into some of the details behind the port, including how the DualSense controller will enable the new experience.

“As we develop games for PlayStation 5, we finally have the opportunity to tap into the potential of the DualSense wireless controller to further immerse you in this twisted world,” writes tech artist Jovan Vukovi. in a blog post. “It allows us to deepen the player’s immersion and allow the whole world to ‘breathe’ in a new way. Since there is no spoken dialogue in the game, we place a lot of emphasis on environmental storytelling, so haptics are a great addition. This A unique audio-visual experience.”
The post also notes that the controller’s adaptive triggers will behave differently depending on the different weapons or tools being used, as they all have a “subtle but different sense of weight.” You’ll also find that the light bar will correspond to your in-game health, giving you a clearer picture of how you’re performing given how minimalistic Scorn’s UI is.
Collectors will also be pleased to hear that a physical version of the game is also coming to PS5, especially the deluxe edition, which includes a digital art set, a digital copy of the soundtrack, and a book of steel.
Scorn launches on PS5 later this year and is currently available on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
