Universal hopes “Oppenheimer” will hit the box office like a bomb. However, the competition from “Barbie”, the marketing and the age rating of Christopher Nolan’s new film could become a problem.
The cinema summer is already underway, but “Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Destiny” falls short of the high expectations and so all eyes are on the three big new releases in July: “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part 1”, “Oppenheimer” and “Barbie”.
The last two films in particular soon provide a tremendous showdown, because two blockbusters are rarely released on the same day and the differences between the two productions make the comparisons between “Oppenheimer” and “Barbie” really amusing.
Which movie will win? That’s what film fans around the world are asking themselves, but it depends on how you define “winning” here. “Oppenheimer” is clearly at a disadvantage in several areas and will therefore have a hard time in the cinema, at least in direct comparison to “Barbie”.
