Talking to NPCs verbally? It is now possible!

Skyrim is probably one of the most modified blockbusters. From graphical enhancements to integrating other games like Dark Souls into the title, the possibilities are endless thanks to the dedicated fan community. A few months ago, a mod in Mount & Blade made it possible to ask written questions to in-game NPCs, who would answer them in writing with data from the Mount & Blade world. Modders have used this base to supplement it with several artificial intelligence tools. It is now possible to speak verbally to NPCs in Skyrim, and they will answer you logically, including verbally.

A possible result thanks to a mix of several software such as “WhisperAI”, “XVASynth” and ChatGPT. The spoken words are transcribed into text, a written response is given before being interpreted in a voice and accent specific to each character.
