Everspace 2 is already very close to its launch on Xbox Series X/S, just over a month from the end, and the The game's debut on Xbox Game Pass seems to have done much for the game's success on other platforms, despite the criticism Microsoft's subscription service has received mostly from Sony executives.
The benefits of the title in Game Pass were commented on by Michael Schade himself, CEO of Rockfish Games, in the podcast Xbox Expansionwhere he also mentioned that the development time was favored thanks to the service.

Schade's statements were very clear:
“We could have developed the game without Xbox Game Pass, but it would have been a smaller title. If we take into account all the benefits we received (from the Game Pass deal), we were able to work nine to twelve more months on the game.”
Regarding the PC, the executive confirmed that the title's inclusion in PC Game Pass did not affect sales on Steam, and even called the service "one of the best, if not THE best, in the industry." The game is already available on PC and will arrive on Xbox Series X/S on August 15.
