As is well known, the successful Borderlands series will also be made into a cinema film – and now, after a long wait, there is finally a concrete start date. We’ll tell you here when you can watch the strip.
Lionsgate has finally gotten its act together when it comes to the release date for the Borderlands film adaptation. The start was initially postponed due to the need for new shoots, but director Eli Roth’s strip now has a new date.
Having previously announced the planned release year, Deadline has now confirmed that the Borderlands film will hit theaters on August 9, 2024; you will therefore have to wait a little more than a year until the time comes.
Eli Roth (“Cabin Fever”) definitely has a squad of well-known actors to work with in the film. Cate Blanchett and Jamie Lee Curtis will star, with Blanchett playing the game character Lilith. Curtis, on the other hand, takes on the role of Tannis. Other characters from the franchise that will appear in the film include Roland, Scooter and Claptrap. On the other hand, Handsome Jack and Gaige are supposed to be missing, so it remains to be seen which direction the film will take in terms of storytelling.
In addition to Blanchett and Curtis, the cast also includes Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Gina Gershon and Edgar Ramirez.
