The Star Trek universe is rocking San Diego Comic-Con! During a panel, a special episode for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was announced. Nobody expected that!

Numerous fans are once again making the pilgrimage to Comic-Con in San Diego. Of course, the “Star Trek” universe should not be missing and is represented by the three current series, “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds”, “Star Trek: Discovery” and “Star Trek: Lower Decks”.
While it was clear in advance that the SNW “Lower Decks” crossover would be shown and some trailers were expected, this revelation comes as quite a surprise: “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” gets a musical episode!
Star Trek: The Musical
Nobody expected that. “Star Trek: Strange New World” will be the first “Star Trek” series in history to receive one of the iconic and popular musical episodes. We don’t even have to wait long to see them. The episode “Subspace Rhapsody” will be released on August 3, 2023. A first trailer for this was also released during Comic Con.
The episode will contain 10 original songs and will give us a special version of the theme song of “Strange New World”. The music and lyrics are by Kay Hanley (“Letters to Cleo”) and Tom Polce (“Navy CIS: New Orleans”).
In Strange New Worlds Season 2, the crew of the U:SS Enterprise, commanded by Pike, face dangerous weekly challenges as they explore new territories and encounter unfamiliar civilizations.
There was also a small update to the episodes. The 7th episode will be released in the US right after the “Star Trek” presentations. This results in new dates for the broadcast of season 2. We see the series finale a week earlier.

- August 10 – Episode 10 “Hegemony”
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 is currently releasing weekly on Paramount+. Then it continues with all sorts of other “Star Trek” new releases in the novelty program of Paramount+!
