C-3PO is one of the most famous and above all long-lived characters from the Star Wars universe. And this is despite the fact that the somewhat scattered protocol droid only mimics the translator or annoys other heroes most of the time. But what happens if so a protocol droid enough of kidding at his expense shows a very strange bug in Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
Player Scorpion5437 has posted a video on Reddit in which such an NPC suddenly takes up arms and mutates into an almost unstoppable killer machine:
I'm playing campaign and a protocol droid got a gun after I shocked it and proceeded to eventually kill me. Glitches are weird but hilarious from r / StarWarsBattlefront
In defense of the protocol droid, it must of course be said that Scorpion5437 apparently has spanned the bow: Without any need, he shoots the robot several times and even lets his drone shock the poor protocol droid.
How did this bug develop?
Scorpion5437 was probably just there Complete the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 single player campaign and was on the second mission. In it, we have to board a rebellious battleship in the role of protagonist Iden Versio.
Actually, Scorpion5437 was also in an area that the player cannot enter under normal circumstances. Maybe that's why the bug with the blood-lusting protocol droid remained undetected for so long.
According to Scorpion5437, before he started pissing on the driod, he did a scan that said the droid was identified as a normal assault soldier.
More unusual killers in Battlefront 2
Of course, droids willing to kill are not uncommon in Star Wars per se. The complete army of separatists consists of battle droids of this kind. It is unusual, however, when droids with other intended functions suddenly become murderers.
The droid from the video is not alone, because only recently Star Wars: Battlefront 2, the otherwise cute Astrochmech droid BB-8, was added as a playable hero. And this is quite able to hand out properly. A mod even turns the hero into the fan favorite Baby Yoda known from the Mandalorian series.
If that's not enough, you can also recently go into battle as an Ewok. The little teddy bears look cute, but at heart they are proven to be ice-cold killers.
