The corona virus messes up the world and of course does not stop at films, games and series. The recently started filming for the second season of the series is currently on hold to protect the cast and crew from infections. The filming of the eight new episodes should now be at least for two weeks in the hope that the situation may ease soon. On the other hand, even the witchcraft of our white-haired hero cannot stink.
It remains to be seen whether and what effects the compulsory break will have on the release of season two. It all depends on when the shooting can continue, whether individual cast and crew people may turn out longer and what else can get in between. The production company had not given a specific date for the second season anyway, based on the production period for the first season, a release in spring 2021 had previously been assumed. With a bit of bad luck that could be delayed significantly.
There is a little consolation for Witcher fans, but not in terms of the series, but the game. GOG has one free digital goodie pack published with all sorts of artwork, trailers, rendering graphics, wall papers and much more that can be downloaded for free until tomorrow.
