We all know Tom Holland. His name began to sound familiar to many people after the premiere of The Impossible, but it was when he became the Spider-Man of the MCU when his name achieved the fame we know today. However, his fame goes beyond being Tony Stark’s protégé.
If you’ve seen some of Tom Holland’s interviews, you’ll know that he’s a little mouthy about spoilers. Things got out of hand to such an extent that Disney had to take action on the matter
Before being cast as Spider-Man, Holland auditioned for Star Wars. As he told in a Hot Ones episode in 2021he was up for the role of Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It turns out that he had a fit of laughter when he heard someone making droid noises:
I remember thinking, “There’s no way this lady is going to read the lines of the robot in front of me,” that would be ridiculous. […] I don’t remember what my phrase was, but it was [algo como]: “Let’s go back to the Millennium Falcon!” And this lady, bless her, would sit there totally engaged and say, “Be-boop-be-boop.” […] It made me laugh, because you know when you realize that something is not quite right? She couldn’t stop laughing.
Holland doesn’t think this event had anything to do with him not getting the role: “I think John Boyega was just better.” She never ceases to amaze how different many characters could have been when meeting the actors who showed up during the auditions.
