After Capcom announced Wilds, the latest part of the Monster Hunter series, at the Game Awards 2023, many are probably trying to shorten the time until release with the predecessor, thereby almost bringing the number of players back to their former glory.
You could almost bet on it. After fans of wild monster hunting had to wait many years for news about Monster Hunter, the reaction to the reveal trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds at the Game Awards 2023 was correspondingly great.
Apart from a few cryptic hints about the story and game mechanics, the trailer mainly revealed 2025 as the targeted release period for Wilds. So there’s still a wait of over a year before you can tackle new monsters in new areas. Enough time to refresh your hunter knowledge and play Monster Hunter World again. At least the PC version is currently used by up to 138,000 players at the same time. This is the highest number of players since July 2020, when there were around 144,000 players.

Of course, the positive numbers are also fueled by the fact that Monster Hunter World and the Iceborn expansion are currently available on many platforms at an absolute bargain price. In addition, Capcom itself makes the players’ mouths water with a whole series of corresponding blog posts and videos.
We don’t know anything more about the release of Monster Hunter Wilds than 2025. You can play World and Iceborn on PC, PS4 and Xbox One and, thanks to backwards compatibility, even on current consoles. Let the hunt begin (again)!
