Blizzard recently announced that Echo will be the next hero of Overwatch.
The announcement was posted on Overwatch's official Twitter page. You can view the following tweets.

The tweet read: "Introduction to Echo". "An evolutionary robot programmed with fast adaptive artificial intelligence, Echo represents the cutting edge of technology." The tweet also comes with an embedded video depicting a woman conveying her thoughts on Echo's creations. "That's it," she thought. "Do I make the world a better place?
She continued: "They have every reason to doubt me." "Only Overwatch believes. You are the job of my life. You will be everything I dream of. Everything I want-what I need-is Help the world. "
"So she created me," Echo chimed in. "Her legacy. Her promise. Her echo."
Back at BlizzCon 2019, Jeff Kaplan told VG247 that there would be another hero appearing in Overwatch before Overwatch 2. As a result, fans have suspected that the next hero might be an echo-after all, she was the one who was dispatched by McRae in response to Winston's recall in a short animated Highway 66 last year.
There is also evidence that Echo is likely to be the next Overwatch hero to be added to the game.
Professional Overwatch League teams have commented on upcoming heroes on Twitter. You can see responses from San Francisco Shock, New York Excelsior and Los Angeles Gladiators below.
