Earlier today, Titan Forge Games announced that the sequel to the popular MOBA game Smite is not only in the works, but will enter alpha testing this spring. Smite was released on the Nintendo Switch, so it was only a matter of time before the developers of Smite 2 were asked if its sequel would do the same.
Well, that happened. Tech Radar contacted Titan Forge Games to find out if Smite 2 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. According to Smite executive producer Alex Cantatore, “we’re concerned that right now, with the power level of the Switch and the minimum specs we’re aiming for, we’re just not sure we can develop or deliver a really good experience for people currently playing on Switch. Smite has been everywhere we’ve put it we can push it to work well, and I would expect that to continue with Smite 2. We’re just not sure we’d be able to get it to work well on Switch 1, unfortunately”.
As for why Cantatore is calling it the Switch 1, he said the team is “willing to be open” and consider future platforms that become available, including a more powerful version of the Switch, the Switch 2. However, Cantatore makes it clear that he has no knowledge of any .
