Pokemon Pocket TCG Mass Outbreak Bonus and Rare Pick Guide

Directly following the “Meowth” and “Chansey Wonder Pick” events Pokémon Trading Card Game Bag has created a new reason for you to open your phone ever wider in the relentless pursuit of more digital maps. There are no new single-player challenges to complete in the Fire Pokémon Mass Burst event. So don't worry about putting together that Misty deck you've always wanted to put together. Instead, this particularly rewards those who love checking out their Wonder Pick options throughout the day.

Here's how the Fire Pokémon Mass Breakout event works: From now until November 28th, a special “Bonus Pick” option will appear in the Wonder Pick menu. This allows you to randomly select one of five Fire-type cards for free. So you should always make bonus picks whenever you see them. These can appear multiple times throughout the day. So be sure to check your Wonder Picks whenever you decide to play. At the same time, “Rare Picks” will occasionally appear in the Wonder Pick menu, which contain a correspondingly rarer selection of cards. Rare picks cost Miracle Stamina, which takes 36 hours to replenish naturally.

Let's see what exactly you get here:

All cards you can get from bonus picks

The card pool that can appear as a bonus selection is as follows:

Charmander

Charmeleon

Vulpix

Ninetales

Ponyta

Rapidash

Growlithe

Magmar

Heatmor

Blaine

Here too, bonus tips are literally free. Even if the cards are all terrible, they're worth grabbing. However, the Charmander, Vulpix, and Ponyta evolution lines can help complete Fire decks, especially if you can combine them with a Blaine trainer card. A Ninetails with Blaine's additional 30 damage can KO a Pikachu EX in one hit!

Charizard

Moltres

Are rare picks worth the miracle stamina?

Admittedly, the value outlook here is difficult. Charizard EX is one of the best cards in the gamebut that is not on offer. Arcanine EX is the rarest choice here, but it's not exactly a “meta” card. 120 damage for three energies can counteract Pikachu-EX cards that keep popping up in online games, so you definitely shouldn't write it off. However, due to the way Wonder Picks work, there's no real guarantee that you'll snag one. So you have to weigh up whether the risk is worth the reward. You can get a Miracle Hourglass and a Shop Ticket by drawing an Arcanine EX during the event, but that's more of a nice perk than a reason to specifically seek out the card.

Luckily, unlike most regular Wonder Picks, your consolation prizes here are pretty good. As mentioned above, Ninetales and Rapidash can be deadly when combined with Blaine. You need Charmeleon if you want to build any Charizard deck. And if you don't have Charizard or Moltres yet, this is a good opportunity to add to your collection.

Are all your saved Wonder Hourglasses worth dropping into Rare Picks whenever you see them? Well, unless you don't have any of these cards in your collection, probably not need to pursue this tirelessly. But is this a good way to use the miracle stamina you already have stored up and want to spend? Definitely, As long as you don't falter when you turn over all the cards that you wanted more.
