The first Dune was a bit of an oddity, considering Lynch isn’t the type of director who typically makes commercial blockbusters. Anyone who has seen his works such as “Twin Peaks” and “Mulholland Drive” knows that he is a bit eccentric. In an interview a few years ago, he even said that he was proud of all his works except Dune . A big reason behind this is that he didn’t make the final cut of the film and therefore didn’t have the creative control he might have liked.
