Will “Lord of the Rings” be back in theaters soon?
Allocated took advantage of the recent airing of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies on TMC to remind us that the Lord of the Rings series should soon return to the big screen. Warner Bros. actually formalized the production of new episodes for theaters last year. These feature films are managed by New Line Cinema, a subsidiary of the group, as well as Embracer, which purchased Middle-earth Enterprises before making layoffs at its studios. At the moment we don’t know if Peter Jackson is involved, although the rumors in the hallways are reassuring that he may be involved.
This scene from a Spielberg classic still amazes James Cameron
It’s always interesting to hear what a legendary filmmaker has to say about the work of another legendary filmmaker. This happened in an interview between Steven Spielberg and James Cameron via video broadcast on YouTube. The “Avatar” director says he could watch “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” “at 3 a.m. on cable” and still be amazed by the mothership scene and the sense of awe and wonder it inspires. “I still have a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye,” he recalled of the scene. Spielberg’s film, which was a huge box office success, tells the story of a man whose life is turned upside down after an encounter with an unidentified flying object.
The sequel to The Tomorrow War is still in development
The Amazon Prime Video original film “The Tomorrow War” was the biggest hit on Jeff Bezos’ platform in 2021. That’s all! Directed by Chris McKay and recently aired on TF1, this sci-fi feature film was originally released in the middle of a pandemic. After the release of the first film, the question of a sequel was quickly brought to the table. Although this was indeed made official, there has been little news since then. The most we know is that the script was written last year. Despite everything, we know that Chris Pratt will still be there and a spin-off is being discussed.
Actually, Doctor Who is terrifying
Former Doctor Who series showrunner Steven Moffat gave an interesting insight into the main character’s actions, suggesting that they could be viewed as creepy in a different context. In any case, this suggests so Screenrant, repeating an interview with the Times. Moffat, who has been associated with the franchise for 12 years, said the Doctor could be seen as a frightening creature if the comedic aspects of the series were taken away. “If you take away the comedy, the Doctor is terrifying. This guy throws himself into the middle of every fight he can find and decides who should win. “Humans have one chance, and then he wipes out their species,” he explained. This is a description that is ultimately not very common and has the merit of highlighting the character’s sometimes cruel actions.
Disney/Sony wants to integrate these two superheroes into Spider Man 4
Finally, the latest rumor about Spider-Man: Sony would like to see its hero continue to work side by side with other characters from the MCU. According to Daniel Richtman of ComicBookMovie.comvia comments taken up by CBRMatt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) would be the two heroes that the Marvel-Sony pair would like to see in Spider Man 4. Still, according to Daniel Richtman, Daredevil would have “an important role” in the film’s story. Discussions surrounding the film are currently ongoing and filming has not yet begun.
