Many young people who follow the most popular streamers, both on Twitch and YouTube, stop to think about the possibility of devoting themselves to this world and working while enjoying their favorite games. A basic device necessary to be able to broadcast is a video capture, provided that we want to use a console. If we have one PC for gaming and streaming, this is also necessary, but what if I have two PCs?
If we have two PCs we can also use video capture, as long as it is of quality. It is said that we can also use when we really have it’s not necessary since we can transmit the image and sound through our local network to the device responsible for carrying out the transmission.
And the best of all is that it does not have to be a powerful and cutting-edge device, since we can use any laptop or desktop computer that we have at home, even if it doesn’t have a dedicated graphics card. The only condition is that it is not an Intel Core 2 Duo, an Intel Core iX is more than sufficient.
To send the signal from one device to another the only application we need is OBS and install a plugin. OBS is an open source application widely used by streamers and we can free download from its website for Windows, Linux and macOS, so there is no need to use Windows as the operating system.
How to stream without capturing with two PCs
To carry out this process successfully, and not get bogged down in explanations, we are going to divide the steps that we must carry out by team. Team 1 will be responsible for sending the game signal to Team 2, the team in charge of streaming on Twitch or YouTube. The first thing we must do both teams is to download the OBS application from its website.
Team 1 – Capture the image
Once we have installed OBS on this computer, since we are not going to use it to broadcast, it is not necessary to configure the transmission options, only play to play and send the video and audio via our network to computer 2, which The first thing to do is download the complement AND
Next we access the Tools menu and click on NDI output settings. Here, we check the box Program exit and we enter the name with which we will later identify computer 1 in computer 2. The rest of the options do not need to be changed.
Next we need to create a scene, in the box at the bottom left. In this scene we need to create a source responsible for capturing the screen. This source captures both the image and the sound of the game. The capture method can be left to Automatic.
Team 2 – Transmit the image on the Internet
The first time we install OBS, as it is the equipment that will send the signal to the Internet, it is necessary to configure the application with our Twitch or YouTube data. The process is very simple and there is no need to change any of the values displayed. You must also install the NDI plugin from the same link.
Once we have installed OBS and NDI on both devices, we need to configure device 2 to receive the signal from device 1. To do this, in the Sources section, click on the + sign and select The font is NDI. Then we establish a name to identify it and in Source the name that we established on the PC that sends the signal will be displayed. As soon as you select it, the image of device 1 captured via OBS will be displayed.
Streaming without capture device
Once we have configured the two computers 1 that we will use to capture the game image and send it to computer 2 which will be responsible for sending the signal to the Internet, all we have to do is click on the button button Start transmission of team 2.
On computer 1, simply open OBS so that it captures the image and sends it to computer 2, which will send it to Twitch or YouTube. The CPU consumption of this application is very low, so it will not affect the performance of our PC while we play.
