LEGO has just announced a very cheeky new set. A great premiere for the manufacturer, who did not yet have this license in its catalog.
LEGO is constantly releasing new sets and there is something for everyone. For young and old, collectors, lovers and even the curious. Partnerships are also the order of the day at the brick dealer. Cinema, video games, pop culture, there isn’t a single license that hasn’t been touched by the LEGO madness. And yet there was something LEGO had never done before: a pig set.
LEGO a new, all pink set!
Come on, we’re no longer pulling the rope and playing Rick Astley’s music in the background. No, LEGO definitely won’t be releasing a set for adults.
However, there’s actually a pig story in the company’s latest announcement, as it involves a cult children’s idol that will soon claim its set: Peppa Pig (if you have kids, you’ve already got the credits up). LEGO has announced that it will be working with Hasbro to release a range of LEGO Duplo Peppa Pig sets later this year. The company has not provided us with any further information at this time. No price or specific release date. So far we only had the right to a small teaser.
One thing is certain: this is a great first for LEGO. Peppa Pig was still missing from his catalog. However, the franchise has been established for years and will soon be celebrating its 20th anniversary! Yes, yes, it doesn’t make us younger. To say that Peppa is a hit is an understatement, the animated film is an astronomical success, the derivative products are legion and the series will soon even have the right to attractions in famous parks.
