Early access for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League pre-orders was supposed to start gradually today, but after a short time it was said: Server down due to a nasty bug.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will officially be released in a few days and early access for pre-orders should actually start today, at least in some regions such as New Zealand, depending on the time difference. However, Rocksteady got off to an embarrassing false start.
As the developers announced on Twitter, the servers had to be taken offline again shortly after launch for maintenance work and it is said that the work could last several hours.
The cause of the problems is apparently a bug that signals the full completion of the story when you log into the game for the first time. It’s not new that there can be a lot of problems when launching an online game, but to this extent… not good.
The current problems will probably cause renewed calls from the community, who have long been calling for an offline mode or the removal of the online requirement for the game. The developers have already promised this, but it is not yet known when the offline mode will be introduced.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is already viewed with suspicion by the community, who would have preferred a single-player game in the style of the Arkham titles and are not at all happy about the decision to incorporate many live service elements along with online compulsion .
After all, “only” buyers of the deluxe edition are affected so far and early access has not yet started in all territories. The game will officially be released on February 2nd and it is to be hoped that the bug will not be joined by further problems.
It is also still unclear when we will be able to provide you with our test, because without a server there is no test and we were not provided with advance access to a test server.
