It seems that Konami has released new sales data that has been boosted by Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 and Momotaro Dentetsu World: Chikyuwa Kiboude Mawatteru. This is what was shared:
- Revenue and profit growth:
- Revenue increased 11%.
- Profits increased by an impressive 53%.
- Financial highlights (in yen and dollars):
- Revenue: ¥253.1 billion ($1.72 billion, +11.6% YoY).
- Commercial Profit: ¥62.8 billion ($427 million, +53%).
- Operating Profit: ¥59.6 billion ($405.2 million, +59%).
- Drive for successful launches:
- Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 y Momotaro Dentetsu World: Chikyuwa Kiboude Mawatteru.
- Additional strength with Efootball 2024 and Spirits Professional Baseball.
- Performance in the fun department:
- The amusement segment doubled its profits year over year to 2.2 billion yen ($15 million).
- Segment revenue rose 55% to 16.3 billion yen ($110.8 million).
- Adjustment in forecasts for the current financial year:
- They initially expected revenue of 328 billion yen ($2.23 billion).
- Revised forecast: 343 billion yen ($2.33 billion, +15% year-on-year).
- Increase in earnings forecasts:
- Trading profit forecast increased by 15.5% to ¥78.5 billion ($533.8 million).
- Operating profit forecast increased by 12% to ¥72 billion ($489.6 million, +25.8% YoY).
We remember that, after numerous rumors and indications of the return of the franchise, it was shared that we will receive Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, a collection that includes Metal Gear Solid, Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. It was confirmed at the Nintendo Direct in June 2023. The game has already been released on Switch in digital format and also in a controversial physical edition. Players have the option to purchase the entire collection as a single title or purchase the games individually for $19.99 each
