Fallout on Amazon Prime Video: New start date and final trailer for the video game adaptation

Last year, “The Last of Us” showed that video game adaptations can also be convincing in series form. You can already look forward to another implementation of a popular gaming franchise. Because it won’t be long until “Fallout” starts on Amazon Prime Video. A new trailer provides a greater insight into the series.

It shows the dystopian future of the year 2296. After a devastating nuclear war, the world is no longer the same and is now just a wasteland where numerous dangers lurk. The last people have either lived in bunkers, so-called vaults, for generations or have to fight for survival every day in the inhospitable world.

The mood of the trailer impresses with a 50s flair that is typical of the games. In addition to a lot of action and just the right pinch of gallows humor, the three main characters of the series are also shown.

The focus is on Lucy (Ella Purnell), the resident of Vault 33. She has spent her life with a community in a bunker far beneath the surface of Los Angeles. She has no idea about the dangerous life in the radioactive no-man’s land outside the safe walls, but she goes outside and faces the challenge.

Between the numerous threats, she meets Guhl (Walton Goggins), a person who has been scarred externally and internally by the war. The trailer already hints that Guhl’s past in particular will play a larger role. The third member of the group is Maximus (Aaron Moten), who joined the high-tech Brotherhood of Steel as a child in order to take revenge on his parents’ murderers.

“Fallout” fans will certainly be pleased that the series is set in the same cosmos as the games. According to Todd Howard, head of Bethesda Game Studios, everything that happens in the series is part of the games’ canon. It may also be that events from the “Fallout” games are picked up.
