The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake is still a long time coming. It could happen next year at the earliest.
After it was announced that Embracer Group was separating from Saber Interactive, the fate of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake was once again in jeopardy. As if the future of the game hasn’t been uncertain often enough in the past.
However, fans waiting for the remake can breathe a sigh of relief. Journalist Jason Schreier explained via Twitter that the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake is going to Saber Interactive.
Embracer Group previously announced that of the 14 games currently in development, it continues to have influence on two. One of these two games is an already announced title based on a large license.
As Schreier writes, it is likely that Embracer Group and Saber Interactive will continue to work together on the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake.
Asked whether the title will be released within the next 12 months, Embracer Group CEO Lars Wingefors said on a recent conference call that it will not. This type of game must be treated with love and respect, which is why it will take some time before the game comes onto the market.
