When you have the responsibilities of an older person, time becomes a very precious resource. You start to question what things you want to invest it in. When it comes to video games, this usually translates into the feeling of progression: level, statistics, equipment, scenarios and others that convey change and that the time invested matters.
Experience has taught me that if you start to question whether you are spending your time well while playing a video game, it means that something is not going as well as it should… and surprisingly, it is not always the video game that is to blame. In this case yes, but it is not strange that it is the player’s.
Defector’s Thoughts on Helldivers 2
It’s no secret that Helldivers 2 amazes me. I have made it very clear on a professional level in iGamesNews and personally on my social networks. Everything positive has always outweighed the weaknesses, which there are and they are not few. Without going any further, the game has been suffering crashes and server problems for two weeks in a row for different reasons. Annoying, but I keep coming back.
Another problem that I saw from the beginning was the content: enough for then, but I think Arrowhead Game Studios is starting to do very fair in this section. At least in regards to my experience and others that I have been able to meet in conversations and live on Twitch.
I am aware that Helldivers 2 It was launched almost two months ago and yet we have had many new features: mechas, a War Bonus focused on the bow (electricity), two new support weapons such as stratagems and some live events that have written the first pages in the history of the game. However, I’m starting to feel insufficient.
After almost 100 hours fighting to bring democracy on both fronts, Terminid and Automaton, I have realized that I am beginning to fall into monotony. I’m running out of incentive to play and I don’t know how long I’ll last without objectives beyond the missions themselves. And before you take me to the wall for thoughts of betrayal and desertion, allow me to explain myself.
If wanting more is illegal, let them take me to prison… but in the most democratic way possible
I enter at Helldivers 2 daily to check the status of the War Table, contribute to the Supreme Order and complete the daily quest, all to ensure a few extra medals as a reward. The past was no exception: I did a few missions between adventures in Dragon’s Dogma 2. After finishing the third mission, I returned to my ship to see what reward I could unlock… and I realized that I have very little left to have all the upgrades . And I’m only Level 32!
I have all the stratagems, I have two or three ship modules left to unlock and I have completed the two Premium War Bonds and I only have two pages left of the free one. I am aware that this is a product of having tried like an animal to bring you the analysis and then playing on my own. Any normal person still has a few battles left to get to the point I’m at.
But as José Ortega y Gasset said: “I am me and my circumstances.” I maintain that Helldivers 2
It is by no means an exclusive issue of Helldivers 2although this time I have decided to take matters into my own hands so as not to end up getting burned: I have abandoned the most difficult difficulties (7, 8 and 9) and I am helping newbies on difficulties 4-5, which in turn slows down progress. This and knowing the state of the war is the only thing that motivates me to continue playing, as happens to many other players. I just hope Arrowhead has events, War Bonds, and more imminent content on their hands, especially now that the table is almost clear of enemies.
