The Apple Watch Series X or Apple Watch Series 10 screen will have greater energy efficiency
Before the official launch of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 last year, some rumors began to surface suggesting that the new watches would have longer battery life. In fact, an Apple representative confirmed that the company is primarily focused on improving the battery life of its next generations of Apple Watches.
Finally, the arrival of the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 This did not bring big improvements in autonomy
To improve the battery life of the Apple Watch Series 10, Apple will mainly need to adjust two factors of its watches: the energy efficiency of its OLED screen and the capacity of its battery. Let’s get into the details.
Apple Watch Series 10 could have a more energy-efficient OLED display
The news was revealed following a publication in Korean media The Elec. According to reports, Apple plans to improve the OLED panel technology of the Apple Watch Series 10 to reduce the consumption of one of the functions that consumes the most battery: the always-on screen function.
And how do they plan to proceed? Very simple, basically Apple intends to adopt LTPO technology (low temperature polycrystalline oxide for its acronym in English) which consists of a thin layer for the transistors (TFT) which activate the brightness of each pixel of the Apple Watch screen. In doing so, Apple could control the voltage applied to the liquid crystal cellsthereby reducing power consumption from the amount of light that passes onto the screen.
Currently, the latest generation Apple Watch models use this technology (LTPO) in a small number of their transistors. But most of them adopt low temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) technology. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus also use panels with LTPS technology.
The main company responsible for manufacturing the OLED panels for the Apple Watch Series 10 will be LG Display.

Additionally, according to Mark Gurman, the Apple Watch Series 10 could bring the biggest overhaul in history, with much thinner thickness which would allow the Cupertino company to have much more internal space for hardware components. This new feature would facilitate the installation of a larger capacity battery.
On the other hand, the Apple Watch Series 10 could also introduce a new magnetic strap system which will attach more tightly to the device and provide a little more room for other hardware upgrades.
