Changes are coming to the Pixel mobile range. Everything indicates that Google will take advantage of the launch of the Pixel 9 to introduce a new design and new devices, with which it will offer more alternatives to users. Rumors suggest there will be four Pixel models, including a foldable, and that will be just one of the changes.
With four different models, Google will have the potential to offer something different for every type of user; some will be cheaper and an entry point to new AI-based technologies, while others will have large screens or flexible displays. But they will all have one thing in common: design.
The Pixel 9 design was already leaked earlier this year, but it wasn’t clear whether Google would finally break that much from previous designs; Now, the first real photos of the Pixel 9 Pro suggest that yes, Google is pulling out all the stops.
Real photos of the Pixel 9 Pro
The photos were published by the Russian page Rozetked, and they must therefore be taken with a grain of salt. It is entirely possible that the device that appears in these images be nothing more than a role model, but there are details that indicate it’s real; like the fact that the device clearly took a hard knock at the corner, which could indicate that it’s a test unit.
The photos would confirm that the rendered images released a few months ago are real; and that the modifications are final. We will therefore return to some flat edges
It could be said that with these changes, Pixels will look more like other phones, although they retain the aesthetic that makes them identifiable; But it’s still controversial that Google decided to follow in the iPhone’s footsteps, which is evident when the two devices are shown side by side.
Speaking of the iPhone that appears in the photos, it is an iPhone 14 Pro Max, which brings us to the other big controversy: the Pixel 9 Pro will be smaller. It should only have a 6.1-inch screen, the same as the base Pixel 9 model; In exchange, a new model, the Pixel 9 Pro XL, will be launched for those who prefer large screens.
Once again, it would be Google following in the footsteps of the iPhone, which also offers a base model and a Pro model of the same size, as well as Plus and Max models respectively, identical in “hardware”, but with larger screens.
