As we wait for THE big release of the month on Xbox Game Pass on May 21st, the service welcomes three new games, including a wonderful indie gem.
The Xbox Game Pass release schedule for the month of May is actually pretty busy. We will especially remember Hellblade 2, which was highly anticipated on May 21st. Until then, subscribers to the Microsoft service are in for a treat with these three new games.
The Xbox Game Pass catalog is filled with three new games
Let’s start in chronological order of the newcomers and with the most interesting game of the three newcomers. Chants of Sennaar, developed by independent studio Rundisc in 2023, will be available on Xbox Game Pass (PC, Cloud and Consoles) on May 15th. This is a purely single-player adventure/puzzle game in which we will have to bring together different peoples of a particular tower by learning their respective languages. This little indie gem has been praised by critics and the public for excellent reasons. If you’ve never played it and are a subscriber to Microsoft’s service, you can find out why for free.
On May 16th, two Electronic Arts games were released via EA Play. First up we have Immortals of Aveum (PC, Xbox Series and Cloud). It was developed by Ascendent Studios and also released in 2023. It’s an FPS in which our weapons are spells. The title offers a solid art direction and a rather edgy gameplay. Like Chants of Sennaar, Immortals of Aveum is a single-player experience only. In any case, you can see this at no additional cost if you are an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber.
The latest game to be made available on the Microsoft service is EA Sports NHL 24 (Cloud), again via EA Play. If you are a fan of ice hockey, you will like this title. This is intended to provide an immersive experience, driven in particular by the fatigue engine, which puts a strain on players’ stamina. It will be possible to enjoy it both in solo mode with career mode and in multiplayer mode for more intense games. To access EA Play you need the Ultimate plan.
