CD Projekt RED has no intention of taking any breaks. Over the past few years the company has been fully involved in the development and improving the content of Cyberpunk 2077, but at the same time it is working on the next installments of The Witcher and Cyberpunk sagas, so there are many more to come. very interesting projects.
In recent days the Polish studio’s associate game director, Pawel Sasko, has granted an interview with the Flow Games channel In which he has spoken at length about various topics, but one of the most interesting has had to do with what any person would need to start working in the company. Of course, he has it very clear and basically it can be summed up as Mod creation
In countless video games we have seen how users are able to create mods of all kinds that become essential and they improve their quality even further. This has not been an exception in CD Projekt RED RPGs, hence a good part of the studio’s employees have been modders in the past:
Half of the upcoming Cyberpunk quest team, consisting of 24 people, have developed mods in the past for our games and other titles. For example, Blazej Augustynek, who is currently a quest director, created mods for the first two StarCraft games.
Sasko also noted that Mods play a fundamental role in their workbecause they serve to extend its life. Without going any further, The Witcher 3 went on sale almost ten years ago and is still active thanks to the community. In this sense, REDKit is the tool that is used for the creating and downloading mods which are designed in the latest adventure of Geralt of Rivia.
What Sasko wanted to make clear is that this tool was created jointly by CD Projekt RED and Yigsoft, a small team composed of about 20 people who are actually moddersso it is clear that he does not talk for the sake of talking and that the development of mods can end up leading to becoming part of a video game company.
