Do you know “swiping”? This is a controversial technique used in the world of comics that consists in reusing parts or even entire pages of a previously published comic book by another artist. In other words, a designer takes other works as a model to create his own comic page, even if his creation compromises the cut but also the drawn elements that come from another comic. “Swiping” is often equated with copying and is sometimes seen as a strong homage

it depends on the point of view you take. It goes without saying that wiping has been around for a very long time.

CBS recently wrote an article on the subject in which he deals with the numerous cases of “swiping”, these more or less well disguised “copies”, such as the cover of Detective Comics #27 by Bob Kane, which is in reality an adaptation of a drawing of Flash Gordon by Alex Raymond, or even Fabio Laguna, who incorporated in his Wolverine a large number of boards inspired by those of Jim Lee.
