The Halloween franchise isn’t dead yet, which is good for horror master John Carpenter. Even though the last two films failed, the legendary director has gotten his due and seems happy with it. Clearly, he prefers to embrace the many opportunities that come his way, especially when it comes to video games. His favorite pastime is NBA games since he doesn’t really go on tour anymore. And the director can indulge his passion, as a promising and unexpected game has been revealed. Beware, future carnage.
Halloween teams up with Ash vs. Evil Dead in one game
It’s an unexpected announcement that has fallen in the last few hours, but Boss Team Games, to whom we owe Evil Dead The Game, is working on Halloween. John Carpenter’s cult license, which, although it was quickly lost, remains one of the masterpieces of genre cinema. A slasher monument. During the announcement, the studio promised two games, with one of the titles to be supervised by Carpenter. An asymmetric multiplayer horror game in which you play Michael Myers, the Halloween killer? We’ll see what happens, but Boss Team Games has already unveiled one of the two softwares. And it’s totally unexpected.
The game Halloween & Ash vs Evil Dead Retro Areas has been officially announced for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC for release on October 18, 2024. What is it? Two 16-bit action/platformer titles united on the same cake or module in “Double Feature” mode, where we play Michael Myers and Ash Williams in their respective adventures.
“RetroRealms pays homage to classic side-scrollers while offering a new take on retro gameplay.”. Halloween & Ash Evil Dead doesn’t want to be lazy and offers very bloody experiences with brutal kills. The lore of the two emblematic horror sagas is also present, with references to the feature films and their characters. If you buy the physical version, you can even play with Laurie Strode as DLC.
