The Dragon Age: Veilguard series of special editions has been revealed, one of which includes a glowing dagger. This is definitely not a toy, but it’s not a real game either.

Get ready to take a moment to look at the money you planned to spend on your Halloween costume this year with mixed feelings, because a range of special editions and collector’s editions of Dragon Age: Furth of the Veil have now been revealed. Yep, you can now start thinking about which edition to buy.

As Bioware confirmed yesterday, Veilguard is set to release on October 31st, which means you do have a little time to think about whether or not you need a glowing dagger in your life. Yes, one of the versions has a glowing dagger.

As detailed in a blog post, the standard edition of the game (i.e. the one without the frills) will cost $69.99/£69.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and $59.99/£49.99 on PC. If you pre-order that version or the more expensive Deluxe Edition, you’ll get a set of Blood Dragon-decorated armor.

The Deluxe Edition costs $89.99/£89.99 on consoles and $79.99/£69.99 on PC, so what extras does the Deluxe Edition include? Well, there are (gasp) three sets of Rook armor, six Rook weapons, seven sets of companion armor, and seven companion weapons.

But — in the words of a certain salesman — wait, there’s more. Enter the “Rook’s Coffer” edition, which comes with a map of Thedas, a deck of cards, some companion prints, a potion bottle model, and what the post says is an enchanted die. Oh, and there’s also a Lyrium Dagger model, which looks like it lights up in a way similar to the Star Wars lightsabers we had as kids. Wow! Seriously though, EA/Bioware insists this is a “decorative replica, not a toy.” Whoa.

This $150/£117.98 version doesn’t come with the actual game, though. Neither does the “Vyrantium Pack,” which you’ll have to check if it’s available if it’s not available in your region, which comes with a steelbook case without the game, a metal print, a notebook, and a collector’s box to hold all of these things in.

Oh, and there’s also an art book for the game, which also doesn’t come with the game, and comes in three editions – the standard edition for $49.99, the deluxe edition for $99.99, and the Bioware Gear Exclusive edition for $55.00.
