I never run out of space on my phone. These are my tips

phone, Run, Space, tips

If there are two fears I face with my cell phone, one of them is running out of battery, which I can’t always fix because eventually there will be a time when it will inevitably run out. Fortunately, the other is a easy problem to solve: running out of storage space.

Taking up that old expression of “every teacher has his own booklet”, I want to tell you here what I wrote in mine. What are these tips that I apply and recommend to apply? does not fill the mobile memory and thus always have enough space.

Google Files is my favorite cleaner

I’ve tried many file managers for Android, but I always end up going back to Google Files to free up space. This is the Google’s native file manager which, in fact, is already installed on most mobile phones. And the main reason I keep coming back is their cleaning manager.

It offers a tab in which In less than a minute, it performs a complete memory cleanup which helps me to always keep storage tight. This includes removing duplicate photos and other files, something we often tend to accumulate unconsciously and which takes up a lot of space in the long run.

I admit that I don’t use it every day, although it’s not necessary either. As a general rule just use the cleanser once a week so that it can find enough unnecessary data to delete. Also being native and free, this is the one I always recommend.

I clear the app cache quite frequently

Among the data deleted by Google Files, there is a part of the cache files. However, this is not as thorough a cleaning as that obtained with the manual method of cleaning the application cache. That is why I turn to clear the cache of the apps I use the most and therefore take up more space with these temporary files.

Just go to the mobile settings, enter the application panel, select the application in question and click on “Clear cache”. And this, like the cleaner, I usually do this once a week or less frequently.. There is nothing established in this regard and in fact there are times when it is not useful.

Telegram is my unlimited and free cloud

A good way to save space and money is to use free cloud storage services or those that at least offer some capacity without paying. and here Telegram becomes more than a messaging app by offering unlimited storage for any user.

The only downside is that It’s 2GB per file, but in general, I don’t go beyond it. And with that, what I do is create different private groups in which I am alone and that I organize by theme. For example, I have one for photos, one for work documents and one for personal documents.

Another advantage is that I can access these files from any other devicesince Telegram is not only present on Android phones and iPhones, but also on computers via desktop applications and via the web.

WhatsApp is a water cooler, but I put limits on it

Even though WhatsApp is not my primary messaging app, I have it installed and continue to use it. And despite the infrequency of use, Groups are often filled with images and sounds that end up taking up a lot of space. In fact, it’s one of the apps that usually takes up the most space on my phone.

Therefore, in addition to also clearing the WhatsApp cache, I also take advantage of its file manager (it’s in the settings) to eliminate all the unnecessary files that I receive. Also, I always have the option configured in the settings so that photos and videos are not downloaded automatically, as well as to prevent them from being saved in the gallery.

Obviously, there are other ways to save space on an Android mobile. I also apply these methods, but if I start thinking about my routines, these are the four things that I look at with more effort and frequency. and until now They work great for me to keep storage remote. and avoid getting to a point where you need to do a deep clean or resort to more complex methods.
