After months of waiting, it sounds like Baldur’s Gate 3’s seventh patch will finally be released next week.
Fans have been waiting for patch 7 for a while now, and at the end of the PAX West game developer panel this week, Larian head Swen Vincke confirmed that you’ll be able to download it sometime next week. An exact date hasn’t been confirmed yet, so you’ll still want to keep an eye out. It’s also worth noting that this patch will only be available on PC initially, with the official Baldur’s Gate 3 Twitter account explaining: “With so many changes and new features in this patch, it’ll take a little longer to see this on consoles and Mac – but don’t worry, you’ll be killing enemies and installing mods in no time.”

On that note, this update finally introduces the oft-requested mod tools, which should make it easier for all modders to make their own classes, spells, etc. Normally, most console games don’t support mods, but similar to how Bethesda has begun allowing certain mods for its games on console versions, Larian has also been working on making mods work on both the Mac and console versions of the game.

Additionally, as Larian previously revealed, the update will offer improved evil endings that should be a bit darker than the existing endings in the game. Of course, as we all know, no one plays the evil route in the game because being evil feels so bad, so I guess we’ll never know what those endings will be like!
After this, though, don’t expect too much from Baldur’s Gate 3. While there may be some updates, Larian has moved on to several new RPGs and has no plans to work on Baldur’s Gate 4, so be sure to enjoy this update while you can.
