Waze does a lot for us and it’s time to give back. The app is owned by Google, just like Google Maps, and yet they don’t share all the information. For example, location information appears much emptier in Waze than on Google Maps. And you can help make sure that doesn’t happen.
Waze discreetly asks you when you are driving a route to help him with a picture from the place to show to the rest of the user community. It costs you a few seconds and, in addition to improving Waze, you earn extra points by updating the location.
Donate a photo to Waze
When you arrive at your destination on a route in Waze, you will find an information window, just like in Google Maps. The difference is that in this window you are prompted to add a photo of the place for the rest of the users. This is the perfect time to ask for the photo, since you are no longer driving.
All you have to do is press the camera icon that appears in the top bar, where it says “you have arrived”. This opens the mobile camera so you can take the photo live: there is no possibility to upload a photo that you have taken beforehand.
Waze camera has the basics, being able to use flash or not and showing you a preview so you can decide whether to download it or retake it. If you like the photo, then you should add some additional information
Above all, you have to choose whether it is a residence or a public placein which case you will have more options to add as a business category. In residences, however, you only need to confirm the address and number. In both cases you can choose the precise location on the map.
And that’s all, You earn 15 Waze points and improve the map for all users. These points help you level up in Waze and get closer to Waze royalty, crown and all (on the avatar).
