“Wallace and Gromit” has released a new trailer, and the penguin is up to no good again.
“Wallace and Gromit” is a series that’s so much that you look up on Wikipedia and you’re like, “Ah, it’s a British production and they made four episodes and they continued it over the decades on repeat,” and four episodes in, I mean that almost literally. Four, because there have been four short films over the years and only one feature film, The Curse of the Rabbit. But after nearly 20 years, “Wallace and Gromit” returns in a new feature film, “The Revenge of the Beast,” which just released a new trailer from the BBC and Netflix today. This particular outing sees the return of the titular duo’s old nemesis Feathers McGraw, who appears to have framed everyone’s favorite inventor in a series of stolen gardening supplies.
The film looks like a nice throwback to the classic series, but it’s worth noting that you won’t hear the Wallace you’re used to. Peter Sallis, the original voice of Wallace, has retired from the role and passed away in 2017 at the age of 96, so Ben Whitehead has been producing “Wallace” since then. He is voiced in various segments of the Gromit animation.

Vengeance Most Fowl’s website explains that in the film, “Gromitt’s concerns about Wallace becoming too reliant on his inventions are justified when Wallace invents a “smart” dwarf that Seemingly developing a mind of his own, when a vengeful figure emerges from the past who may be plotting events, Gromit must fight the forces of evil and save his master…or Wallace may never be able to invent again!”
Some of the names in the cast will be familiar to many Brits who watched a lot of TV in the 2000s, including Peter Kay, Lenny Henry, Adjoa Andoh, Diane Morgan, Rhys Shea Smith and Lauren Patel.
The film is currently scheduled to be broadcast on BBC iPlayer in the UK this Christmas (December 25) and will be released globally on Netflix on January 3 next year.
