I, like my fellow Nintendo Life crew, I’m sure, will be playing more of Nintendo’s mysterious NSO playtest this weekend in the vain hope that something will click and I’ll figure out what the hell I’m supposed to be doing. It’s certainly interesting though.
I will also be playing a lot of Sonic X Shadow Generations for the review. I promise I’ll try to get it out as soon as possible, but at the same time, I want to make sure I know the game inside and out before I give my opinion! Wish me luck.

Besides the super secret playtest, I, like many others, want to try something a little spooky. The problem is that I’m a very scaredy cat and I hate horror games. I downloaded Signalis which I dipped my toe in last year only to pull out after a few minutes. Maybe I’ll be really brave and try it again this weekend (or maybe I’ll just hit Luigi’s Mansion 3 for the 100th time).
Elsewhere I have started The Plucky Squire and am having a lot of fun with it! It’s probably the perfect tonic after a spooky game, now that I think about it.

This weekend I will be in beautiful FANTASTIC ARCADE in Austin, Texas (look it up, everyone)! This means I’ll be playing a bunch of new and/or unusual lil indie games, eg Multibowl, Color breaker, Usual June, Terratopia: March of the Demon Kingand many moooore!!! If any readers are in Austin, you should come. It will be great. I also do shoutcasting, well, you know. That could be fun!
In non-Fantastic Arcade time, I just finished a game called No Case Should Remain Unsolved, which was really great, and after that I want to dive into Thank God You’re Here, since I’m in Texas and I have to really call that Britishness . Innit.

It would be nice to play something spooky. I’ve had my eye on Alien: Isolation and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories all month, though Isolation is by all accounts a bit too long and Shattered Memories requires a Wii setup – I need something short and crisp. So, last night I finally fired up my copy of Inside, a game I’ve been meaning to get for years and have the chance to finish over the weekend!
Otherwise, it’s Playtest and Zelda for me. I think I have one more dungeon, which probably means I have three more dungeons. Have a great time, folks.

October might be without days, but I’ve never had as many things to play on Switch as I do right now. Further progress on BAKER, Abathor and Neva along with a few blissful sessions with Super XYX and some old fashioned fighting spirit in Blazing Strike. I can’t believe I’m going to skip Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines IIbut this weekend’s event with 150% bonus experience is too good a chance to pass up leveling up my Bulwark and Heavy classes.
I game of the week is Yakuza Kiwami. I understand that I’m pretty late to the party, but since SEGA has finally figured out that there’s money to be made by putting the series on the Switch, I’ll happily oblige. I look forward to seeing the rest of the series roll out. Life is tough on the streets of Kamurochō, you never know when Majima is just around the corner.
That’s what we have planned for the weekend, what about you? Let us know in the next poll which games you plan to launch in the next few days.
