The rumors are true: Fortnite OG is returning permanently in the future! You can’t just pay a temporary visit to the original island in the battle royale hit.
Last week, rumors surrounding Fortnite gained momentum, suggesting that the Fortnite OG mode, which was so successful last year, would return permanently. Given that some of the most renowned Fortnite insiders and leakers reported on it, it was likely that there was something to the matter. Now the official confirmation followed!
Epic Games has now actually announced via social media that the original map of the battle royale hit is not only returning, but will also be permanently preserved in the future. The starting signal for the permanent comeback of Fortnite OG should therefore be given on December 6th, 2024.
“THIS. IS. NOT. A. DRILL” writes the developer via X (formerly Twitter). “OG is coming back and is here to stay. Relive Battle Royale from the beginning and explore the OG map, collect OG loot and experience the OG seasons,” it continues.
This means that another detail from last week’s leak is also quite likely: The ten seasons of the first Fortnite chapter are gradually coming back; It remains to be seen whether the speculation about a monthly rotation of the individual seasons will come true.
Epic Games had already promised a return of Fortnite OG for 2024 after its immense success – now the original island is returning permanently!
